There are several ways to get up to Mount Lukens, which is the highest
point in the City of Los Angeles.
Mount Lukens Fireroad - This fireroad starts at the Angeles Crest
Ranger Station located at mile marker 27. This is a good training climb, but
not much else. It doesn't get too much use. It is about 7.5 miles up to the
top of Mount Lukens. There is one singletrack option about 2.5 miles up.
There is a teepee and the Rim Trail that goes down into La Canada. At about
3.5 miles, the trail intersects the Earl Canyon Motorway. At about 4 miles,
the trail intersects the Grizzly Flats fireroad.
