Trailhead |
There is a trailhead located on both sides of the highway, one on the north and one on the south. |
|
Description |
If you go north, you will be taking the Silver Moccasin trail up to Charlton Flats. The trail is in good condition, but steep. The trail starts off by dropping about 300+ feet into a canyon and then you proceed to climb 1,300+ feet out of it. The trail is about 3 miles in length to get to Charlton Flats. From Charlton Flats, you have many options. The trail doesn’t appear to be heavily used. If you go south, you can take the Shortcut Saddle Trail to
the West Fork Campground where you have options to go to Redbox,
Chantry Flats or |

Thoughts |
On the day I rode the Silver Moccasin trail, I climbed up the trail to Charlton Flats. It was difficult and loose at times. It is probably more fun to ride down the trail. |
